Whenever you enter a shop premises or an office block as a visitor, the owner or occupier of those premises has a statutory obligation under the Occupiers Liability Act 1957 to ensure your safety as long as you are using the premises for the purposes for which they were invited.
f you have been injured on private property then the occupier may have to compensate you for any injuries you suffered if they did not take reasonable steps to ensure your safety while you were there.
